M.E.R.O. Eye Foundation is a registered organization in Nepal. We are promoting and helping to grow education for Eye health professionals. We are promoting eye health education to increase the human resources to prevent visual impairment, blindness, ocular diseases and also to increase eye health awareness in Nepal.

Who can apply?
Students can apply, who had completed three-year optometry academic courses from recognized optometry schools.
What do we cover for Internship preparation?
Training during the Internship would cover the following;
- Visual acuity, contrast sensitivity and Color vision testing procedures
- General Out Patient Department(OPD), General Ocular Examinations
- Pediatric and Geriatric Optometry (Out Patient Department)
- Refraction and ophthalmic dispensing
- Orthoptics and vision therapy
- Low vision aids and Rehabilitation
- Contact lens ( special Contact lens; RGP, Rose-K ,Sclerocorneal, Scleral, Ortho-K)
- Biometry and Ophthalmic USG
- OCT Imaging and interpretation
- Visual Field Analysis (AVF and GVF)
- Electrophysiological tests (ERG, VEP
- Outreach program
- Soft Skills & Patients counselling
Internship
As an optometry intern, you participate in a training or research program as a student. In this role, you may shadow an optometrist to learn more about their daily duty.
For application:
- The candidate should have to choose an internship hospital themselves
- They should apply with an optometry school letter for the internship
- Required to submit the No objection Letter either from Nepal Health Ministry or NMEC.
Volunteering
As an optometrist, you participate in a training or research program as an Optometrist with NHPC licenses to volunteering the organization.
